How To Repair Thyroid Function with These 3 Foods

How To Repair Thyroid Function with These 3 Foods
By Lauren Arbuckle

According to recent statistics, 20 million Americans, the majority of them women, face a thyroid disease or related illness. Of these 20 million Americans, only 50% actually get diagnosed, putting millions more at risk of being either misdiagnosed or undiagnosed at all. This is concerning because if not addressed, thyroid issues can lead to a wide range of other problems, including depression, fatigue, and even infertility.
I have personally experienced this. My thyroid issue was identified not with my first test, but with my second. I balked at the traditional therapy of medication; I did not want to be held captive to a prescription for the rest of my life. I searched the internet for days, trying to find some kind of alternative when I came across an article that tied nutrition to thyroid function. I read on, began to incorporate some of the suggested foods, and, lo and behold, my thyroid recovered and all of my symptoms disappeared.

1. Beans

If I’m honest, beans are not my favorite, but I learned to love them. They are packed with iron, protein, and zinc, as well as vitamins B and C. Their biggest boost to your thyroid recovery, however, is the 19% daily value of selenium they provided from just one cup
2.Almonds:
Almonds are also little powerhouses, with a high protein content and essential vitamins and minerals like iron and zinc. They are versatile and can be eaten as a snack or added to a plethora of recipes
3.Turkey:
Turkey’s lean protein, selenium, and amino acids make it a perfect food for your thyroid recovery.
Coconut oil, fish, and dark green vegetables may also be effective for thyroid recovery. My personal thyroid recovery journey started with traditional medical treatment, but the changes I made to my diet sped up my progress. I was eventually able to sustain healthy thyroid function without medication.
Whatever foods you add to your diet, be sure to consult with your doctor first to make sure they will not interfere or react adversely with any of your current medication. Do not stop any existing treatment without consulting your doctor.
